Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

Im african-american and I have short hair. I use Dr.miracle Hot Grow and I recently started using multivitamins nd 1000 mcg biotin is that enough? What oils should i use? I need home remedies.Oh yeah, I trimmed my hair just a little. I've been using heat for about a week now, I think i need to stop because it isn't healthy. I also need to know a really, really,GOOD,inexpensive shampoo and conditioner.

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

You don't need anything to help grow your hair. Did you say your taking pills to grow it out???? 0.o All you do need is to make sure you cut the ends a lot so you don't grow out split ends instead.

Get rid of anything you've been using to "help" it grow. It's a scam. Hair is keratin (a protein).

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

Motions works for me or get some twists they make ur hair grow better yet CUT IT A little that makes my hair grow

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

Theres no product that can make your hair longer, just keep your hair healthy by avoiding flat irons and blowdrying, dont color too much. Healthy hair might help your hair grow.

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

Yes, definitely stop using heat--be careful about how you comb your hair, too. I grew my hair out using Dove--make sure you get the moisturizing kind. It took me three years to grow mine out all the way, but my hair grows really slow too. Be sure to get it trimmed every three weeks or so, to clip off the dead ends (this time varies on how fast your hair breaks/grows)

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

I think you should try the products that you bought and see how well they work. Biotin is good for hair, nail, and skin. I also don't know of any really good inexpensive shampoo or conditioner, but look at some Dominian hair products. They are really good for African American hair (price varies). That should help with overheating and moisture. I know of a really good product that I have been using, but I think the vitamins that you have should work. If they don't send an email to this address alluringtigress@sbcglobal.net to get more information on the vitamins.

Okay I really need help on growing my hair im really desperate to hav long hair.?

The secret formula for hair growth is to see that hair remains healthy. And these simple home remedies which will help your hair to grow can be made at home and work out less expensive than other alternative forms of medicines. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

Do you buy black hair products?

If so check this undercover racism crap out. And tell me what you think.

%26gt;This was sent to me. I thought you guys would like to read it)

%26gt;

%26gt;Hello Friends %26amp; Family,

%26gt;

%26gt;This e-mail is a follow up to the e-mail which I sent on Friday. On

%26gt;today, I went to my neighborhood CVS store to personally see for myself

%26gt;if the news reports of this national drug store profiling

%26gt;African-Americans by placing anti-theft devices on only Black hair care

%26gt;products were valid. After arriving at this store, I looked at both

%26gt;expensive and none expensive White hair products and I found NO

%26gt;anti-theft devices. I then looked on the boxes of both expensive and

%26gt;not expensive Black hair care products. What I found was shocking! ONLY

%26gt;Black hair care products had anti-theft devices on them.

%26gt;I immediately went to the store management and asked why did only the

%26gt;Black hair products have these devices? The store manager looked like a

%26gt;'deer cau

Do you buy black hair products?

WELL I KNOW IT SOUNDS RACIST BUT I ALSO WORKED IN A DRUG STORE(SAV-ONS) IN WATTS-SOUTH CENTRAL AREA IN LOS ANGELES, AND THE STORE HAD A BAD SHOPLIFTING PROBLEM AND IT WAS MAINLY BLACKS STEALING. WHEN WE DID A SURVEY ON THE SHOPLIFTERS

MORE THAN HALF WHERE SMOKERS OF DRUGS OTHERS WHERE DOING IT TO KEEP THEIR MONEY, THE OTHERS COULD NOT AFFORD THE PRODUCTS, BUT ALSO WE FOUND OTHER RACES WHERE STEALING BLACK HAIR PRODUCTS ALSO. IT'S JUST HOW IT IS. I WAS ONCE OFFENED UNTIL I WORKED AT A STORE AND SEEN THE DAMAGES OF SHOPLIFTERS WHEN THEY GET CAUGHT TTHEY RUN AND THROW PRODUCTS AT YOU TO STOP FROM GETTING CAUGHT, OR THEY USE THE PRODUCT RIGHT IN THE STORE AND WHEN THEY STUFF THE ITEMS INTO THEIR CLOTHES SOME AREAS WHERE THE ITEMS WERE FOUND YOU HAVE TO THROW THE MERCANDISE AWAY. BUT IT'S REALLY NOT A BLACK PROBLEM ALL OTHERS USE BLACK HAIR CARE PRODUCTS.

Do you buy black hair products?

ya i do

Do you buy black hair products?

NOOOOOOOOOOO

Do you buy black hair products?

thats messed up....... but I bet its probably true......they probably do do something like that ..its a shame

Do you buy black hair products?

oh,that's so wrong...

Do you buy black hair products?

i really did not know this.. i do not think it is that way every where though.. i do not know where you live but the crime rate is up so maybe they are just trying to help people not to shoplift...

Do you buy black hair products?

There must have a high rate of theft on those items or they wouldnt go to the trouble of placing devices on them. White people buy black hair products too (I do) so, I dont think its racist.

The makeup and many other items have anti-theft devices in alot of stores.

People need to lighten up on the racist card...

Do you buy black hair products?

I heard of something like that

Do you buy black hair products?

I've bought those products before but I don't think I've noticed those anti-theft devices. I have a hard time dying my hair so I buy them. I think, maybe, if you want, Start to bring this up in public, address your community and say something people do have equal rights. If this does concern you, I wouold take a stand and get a whole lot of people involved no matter what color their skin. We are all human and that is descrimination based on ethnicity. Stores should not be aloud, never mind stores NOBODY should be aloud to judge someone because of their race. If I lived where you did I would be right with you. This pisses me off because I have family of different backgrounds and dfriends of different backgrounds. Can you do me a favor and e-mail me. I have really come up with some ideas. If you want to do something about this let me know. I may not be in the same country but I do know a lot of people who would back me up. I would take a stand with you.

Do you buy black hair products?

Yes i do, its sad but it happens

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

I am an African-American female. I dyed my hair about one week ago. I need a relaxer DESPERATELY...lol. How soon can I get one without having my hair, break, split or fall out?

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

It is always safe to wait at least 2 weeks to a month. The relaxer will dry your hair out if done too soon. Also if you have just colored your hair I would recommend that you wait a month and then relax your hair, not only to give your hair a break, but because the relaxer will cause the color to fade out. If you give your hair a month of healing time then relax it, you will be able to recolor it two weeks after to rejuvenate the color that was lost. Be sure to deep condition your hair once a week before and chemical treatment to strengthen your hair, but, be sure to not condition for at least 48 hours before the treatment, the extra conditioner will cause the chemical reaction to slow down and you won't get the desired result!!

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

2wks.

Next time you should do the relaxer, then color 2wks later.

You'll have new growth now that may not be the same color as your hair.

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

well you are supposed to get the relaxer first, but wait another week or so because you dont want to damage it more. also condition it well. i suggest you go to your beautician for all your chemical service. there is less chance of damage.

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

u could use a relaxer in your hair after u color it in 1-2 weeks so u dont cause damage to your hair and use a treatment for ur hair type

How long after you dye your hair, can you use a relaxer?

TWO WEEKS.

Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?

Hi. I am a 17 year old African American female and 5 days ago I got box braids for the first time. I am currently transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair and I figured this would make it an easier process. Well, I am already experiencing hair loss around the edges and the braids are very tight. I do not want to take them out because I paid $185 to have it done, but at the same time, I do not want my hair to come out. Is there a way I can keep the braids and stop the breakage before it gets worse or should I just take tem out?

Also, my natural hair is past my shoulders, so it took a bulk of weave to get this style, which also causes even more pulling and stress for my scalp.

Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?

I'm going to guess that avoiding permanent hair loss will be worth a lot more than $185 to you in the long run. It is a lot of money but just imagine the people who are willing to pay thousands to get hair replacement surgery. You do not want to have permanent damage to your scalp! If your hair is coming out at the root and/or you have little white bumps forming, take the braids out and try to get a full or partial refund from the salon.

One thing you can try is to take a towel and soak it in water that is as hot as you can stand. Wring it out well and wrap it around your head. Leave it there until it cools. This may help loosen the braids.

You could also take out just the braids around the edges and have a friend help you put them back in more loosely. Check out www.BraidsByBreslin.com and www.KhamitKinks.com for a series of braiding videos. You can do it yourself less expensively and with better care given to your scalp.

If your hair is past your shoulders, you could also have it braided or two strand twisted and set on rollers without extensions.

Hope this helps, Kaya

http://www.naturallyyoumagazine.com

Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?

ooh girl i know how u feel...i have micros and you know micros pull your edges and stuff but just get some Organics Hair Care products like the Carrot Oil and Hair Mayonnaise and rub it around your edges and on the braids every day more than once a day if you want and it will help your hair keep its strength and help it grow in the braids...and it works really good...you can get it from any beauty supply store...and plus i know what you mean about how much you paid for them and dont want to take them out

Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?

i can relate because I was in a similar situation....although i have not experienced breakage around the eges and i am going on year # 3 with my change from perm to Afro. I am actually all natural now and i had shoulder length hair too, one thing i would suggest to encourage your continued transition to natural hair would be to use only human hair because from my experience synthetic hair is more heavier than human hair, human hair can prevent breakage which is a major problem for women with long hair transitioning to natural. I also noticed that synthetic hair drinks all of the nutrients from your hair leaving your hair weak and dry even when you add moisturizing cremes, hair dress etc. Human hair allows the products to actually be absorb in your own hair shaft encouraging less breakage related to dry brittle vitamin depleted hair. Use jojoba oil around your edges to encourage continued moisture retention and hydration and hair breakage prevention. Clean your pores around your edges with alcohol. And yes you can clean your entire scalp that way. Of course eventually you would have to start trimming your perm hair once your natural hair starts coming in to prevent hair breakage so it may be time to say goodbye to some of your permed hair of course it will decrease your length but only until your natural hair grows in. Hope this helps

What's the best inexpensive facial hair removal on the market?

If there's not too much of it, do you really need to do anything? Most guys are OK about women with, for example, a slight moustache.

If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

I am African-American. Does anybody know something I can do or use to make my hair longer?

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

Try taking a vitamin e supplement. Also, use a protein product on your hair to keep it healthy and stong while it grows, to minimize breakage.

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

use this new scarf that u use and u use it like a do rag moisturize hair daily oil scalp daily trim ends of hair once a month hold back on perms until very healthy take vitamins

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

Well, do you relax your hair? Relaxed strands are generally weaker than natural strands are need more protection from heat and breakage. Trims do NOT help your hair grow...they simply get rid of potentially damaged or split ends.

I have natural hair and wear protective styles, like braids and weaves. When I first started wearing my hair in braids, it was about shoulder length, pressed out. I've been wearing braids for almost a whole year now, and my hair in to my shoulder blades now, pressed.

For healthy hair if you do relax, I would recommend washing and conditioning once a week (yes, once a week), a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment every 2 weeks, minimal heat styling, and a light moisturizer, preferrably something that doesn't contain petrolatum or alchol, 2 very common ingredients in most products, but also 2 products that dry your hair very badly....butters are usually good for the hair.

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

Keep your hair trimmed and wrap it up at night in a silk scarf. Wash and condition every weekend. I use Africa's Best hair Oil for moisturizer. Use lightly cause it can be greasy. Trimming your hair does help your hair grow because it lets go of the dead hair to provide room for healthy growth.

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

nothin. it's natural. you jus have to waitttt...

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

heat protectant and a protein conditioner. Ive heard that biotin works very well.

What can I do or use to make my hair grow fast?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use about 1 teaspoon of every oil, and 1 teaspoon of the honey. A little more if ur hair is long and a little less if ur hair is short.

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower. I use Clean Happy from Herbal Essences.

You should use a light conditioner such as Herbal Essences Clean Happy

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

I want long hair, help?

I really want some long extensions that are natural looking but not 1000 dollars to get. I am half african american %26amp; half spanish so my hair is thick and curly, but now I want a straight long look with some versatility. Anyone have any suggestions??

I want long hair, help?

Honey I want thick dark hair like yours. But it ain't gonna happen and no way am I gonna spend a grand.

Become at peace with yourself and with what God gave you -- and work with it, not against it. You'll be ahead of the game if you do.

I want long hair, help?

No offense, but if you are not a celeb and you arent willing to spend the money, it would be real hard to find good extensions! I just recommend getting a god straightener for your hair type and straighten and wait for it to grow. I recommend the chi for a straightener, but it maynot work as well on other hair types, conair is a good brand to check out.

I want long hair, help?

You can go to sallys and get hair extensions for a good price.

i know that if you get hair from the sassy collection of 100% human hair the 18" could cost you about $30.00

I want long hair, help?

i totally disagree with the not being able to get good extensions for under 1000 dollars if your not famous. i personally don't have extensions, but i hvae quite a few friends who do. they're actually made with real hair! unfortunately - i have no idea where they got them. BUT, i know they didn't all go to the same place, so they must be prettttyyy easy to obtain. i would reccomend asking your hairdresser if she knows of anywhere you can go, maybe stop into a professional hairproduct store. if they don't have what your looking for - they can most likely give you the names of a few places where you CAN get your extensions. all my friends got their hair for under a hundred.. it was the clips that racked up the price. however - you will only need to buy the clips if you can on sowing the hair you bought seperately onto them. premade extensions will cost more. shop around before you settle.. i hope this helps !

I want long hair, help?

I've never had extensions...but I know that it KILLS your hair. I'm Portuguese and Italian so i have thick out of control curls lol and embrace it baby!! You can get wayyyyy cheap extensions...just shop around at salons..ANY salon, just ask.. if you live near toronto, you can find some for like $60. If you want them natural...you need it to match exactly...so either you find the colour exact to yours, or dye your hair to the colour of the extensions. That's the number one reason why they look fake. Also, get them weaved. don't get clips, or glue.. if you have such thick hair, you might as well just let it grow out...it may not even look natural...people who get extensions usually are african american, or white girls with thin hair. You can also get your hair chemically straightened, which stays for a few months, but you would have to maintain it. For me, I straighten my hair well, (buy a good straightener ($200+) and don't wash it for 3 days. Curly hair doesn't need to be washed every day, and it doesnt get greasy. YOU COULD ALSO get a step in your hair, (top layer a LOT shorter than the others) so it looks like you have extensions..I have that but when its curly, I have a huge cowlick. It gives my hair even more volume lol. But if you really really want extensions... your best bet is to yellow page every single salon...find out their prices, and go from there.

If your hair is long enough to do that, you should just be able to brush it back when it's wet and pull it into a ponytail. I think the key would be to make sure your hairs wet and maybe use a little gel to make sure that it stays down where you want it without frizzing all over the place.

What brand of hair dye comes in a purple bottle??

I am an african american female usually dye my hair a red/burgandy color. The dye comes in a bottle with a tube like top. It is sem-permenant and it is in a purple bottle. Now I dont remember what brand it was. The store that i bought it from has moved so if anyone knows please help.

What brand of hair dye comes in a purple bottle??

Was it Clairol Complements? It has a semi-permanent in a purple tube. If it was you can find them at any Sally's Beauty Supply.

Without a perm?

(this Q is not for me) If someone has course, african-american virgin hair, what can be used to make it manageable without the use of perms, texturizers or hot combs(her hair too short)?

Without a perm?

Flat iron her hair and relax it so water won't make it curly again also try to put in fake hair called tracks it makes your hair look real and long.

Without a perm?

If it is true virgin hair (never chemically treated or colored), there are several options that you can use to manage hair, depending on what style or texture is desired. I have never had a perm (I colored it once - bad idea), but my hair has a naturally curly/wavy texture and is long. No matter what length or texture, you've got to use a moisturizer. I suggest a shea butter moisturizer. Also, a good shampoo and conditioner will go a long way. I suggest Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural shampoo and conditioner. Every four to six weeks, the hair needs to be deep conditioned. Pantene Pro-V has a really good deep hydrating hair mask.

As far as styling, I have used hot combs and flat irons in the past to straighten my hair. Heat can damage the hair follicle and you've said that her hair is too short to press at this point. Until it grows out, she can use a moisturizing texturizer to keep hair under control or a light curl wax. I use the latter - Garnier Fructis soft curl wax works great. Also, styling the hair in two strand twists gives the hair a break from the constant combing and also gives curls more definition. She can wear a twist out - one of my favorites - where she two strqand twists her hair, untwists it after a few days, and wears the hair curly.

I'm trying to think what else to say...use wide tooth combs to comb hair, never brush natural hair when wet, use a clarifying shampoo at least once a month (to prevent build up) and rotate shampoos every three months to maintain effectivity. I also recomend covering hair at night. It makes styles last longer and also prevents hair from drying out. Moisturizing hair is key to managability. Do it atleast twice daily. Invest in some colorful scarves and headbands as accessories. There are also a lot of websites out there devoted to natural hair as more and more African-Americans are realizing the damaging effects of chemicals and heat to hair.

Good luck!!!

How can i get my hair to grow faster and longer?

im african american, and i have permed hair, and my hair dresser cut it real short and now i awant a way to grow it back.

How can i get my hair to grow faster and longer?

I'm afraid there is no magical pill.

However, keep the hair you do have healthy by not using chemicals on it and keeping heat (dryers and irons) to an absolute minimum.

Please don't believe anyone who tells you a specific product will make your hair grow longer. It won't. If you are at optimal health, eat good foods, exercise, and get a good night's sleep, then you are doing absolutely everything in your power to make your hair grow as fast as it can!

Edit -- cutting your hair does NOT make it grow faster. Think about it logically. For that to happen, there would have to be nerves between the ends of your hair and the inside of your head, where the hair actually grows. If that occurred, it would hurt to get your hair cut! All trimming does is even the ends so it may be easier to measure hair growth. And, certainly trimming makes the hair look much even, which in turn, may give the appearance of faster-growing hair. But, like it or not, the inside of your head has no idea whether scissors have been used on the very ends of the hair on the outside of your body!

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

I have micro braids and i want to lay my edges down what can I use besides gel? I am African American so keep in my hair texture is different.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

Pomades, they work on all textures. Motions hairline makes a pomade that gives good hold.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

Maybe the wax or moulding products would work.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

Try a little Murrays Pomade and Spritz

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

Try a wax or a glue, they are really strong and work great if you need your hair to stay in place. You can get it at walmart or any drugstore. Just look in the hair section. It's the stuff used for the messed up hair look. Also you might try putting this stuff before you go to bed and keeping your hair wrapped while you sleep.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

I use styling mud from 'master cuts/regis'. It's like wax and cost me about $8 for a little tub. It lasts a while though, and that's in your hair and in the jar.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

try pomade. i like Designs products (available at some salons), motions pomade, and ic clear ice pomade work well too.

Alternatives to hair gel! I need to lay my sides down!?

I've heard that pump it up spray works real well.

They sell authentic hair extensions with stripes made from real human hair. I buy all my hair from there!

They have a lot of colours to choose from and it's only $12.99 for 6 pieces!

clip in coon tail striped hair extensions are best because-

- you don't ruin your hair with dye

- they don't grow out

- you can put them in and take them off

- they can last you forever

- they're cheap

- they look like the real thing

- they wont go all frizzy and weird like real hair does when it's dyed, it'll just look like part of your hair.

- You can change your look really easily

-won't go against any school or work dress codes as you can take them out!

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

He is 6'2" white, straight red hair no dimples, hazel eyes. I am black, 5'9", african american type hair, a little passed my shoulders, no dimples and brown eyes. Also, I am have been told that even if a black and white couple have a baby, the baby could still be very dark or very light. Is that true?

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

Hi, Congratulations..very exciting..

We have friends who the wife is very fair and her husband is Phillipino so quite dark. Their first child is 3 and she is very dark like her dad They also have a little boy who is 9 months old and he is very fair like their mum.. You might just have to wait to see what precious suprise you recieve... Good luck

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

your dark eyes are dominant. Although the baby could still end up with light eyes. Also it is true that the baby could be any number of beautiful shades. That's the best part of having a baby trying to guess what they're going to get from who.

Red hair I think is ressessive too but I'm not sure.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

That is true. I want to say that the darker traits dominate, but I'm no geneticist. I'm White and my hubby is Mexican. I'm hoping for tanned black haired babies, but I'll take what I can get.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

i don't know, but i think mixed babies are cute! (= congratz, by the way!

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

The male, no matter what he looks like always is the most dominant. It is true that a biracial couple can have a baby that can look completely Caucasian or African American. Congrats, and no matter what I hope your child is healthy.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

Dark eyes are dominant but there is still a chance of there being a light eyes

Red hair is recessive so there is less chance

it is true they baby could be very dark or very white

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

i learned about recessive and dominant traits. If you have a family member that has blond or red hair or blue or green eyes then you also have recessive genes like your husband. Your child will not have dimples and probably have dark hair and brown eyes. Most of the time atleast from what i've seen a black and white couple usually has a child that is rather dark.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

yes that's true that a mixed baby could be very light or dark. my cousin has 4 mixed kids. 2boys 2 girls. 1 of each set(1 boy and 1 girl) is darker and then the other two(1 boy and girl) is more lighter than the others. also i seen as episode of Maury yesterday and a white girl had a baby with a black man and the little boy looked all the way black! like a brown skinned black person! no lie! the only way you could tell the boy was mixed is because he had the good hair that mixed kids have. but as to your case i don't know what the baby will look like. only time will tell.i know he/she will be beautiful either way. good luck.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

I think that usually the darker trait is dominant. But, my dad has really green eyes and my mom has really dark brown eyes. I got the really green eyes and my brother got a mixture of the two, hazel. So, it's going to be a surprise!!!! Congrats!

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

Well in order to have red hair, both parents have to have it in their blood line. I have always been told that brown eyes are dominant, but I can testify that to be false in my case. Both of my girls have blue eyes ( my genes ) but their father has brown eyes. As far as skin color, there is no way to tell. Best of luck to you.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

I wouldn't rely on that too much, My bf has brown eyes which is a dominate trait and I have blue which is recessive (spelling) and my daughter ended up having blue eyes. and red hair which in his family where we both have brown. she came out little different then expected. lol

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

Generally the male genes are dominant. But, not always. Congrats!

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

Your more dominant.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

In heredity and genetics, the dominant traits gets inherited by the offspring.

These traits can come directly from the parent or from the family lineage.

If you can roll your tongue into a U-shape, you are dominant trait.

Other dominant traits:

If your earlobes hang free at the bottom.

When you clasp your hands together and interlock the fingers, if the left thumb is on top.

If you have dimples.

By being a male.

If your little finger bends toward your ring finger.

If your thumb is straight and does not bend backward.

If you have freckles.

If your hairline is shaped in a downward V-shape.

Check this site as wel:

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

From what I understand skin color is determined along a continuum and not just by one gene. The color of the baby's skin will be determined by several genes where you could contribute them or not contribute them. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

My husband and I are having a baby. I am wondering who has the dominant traits?

The dark eyes and dark hair are dominant. Although your child could have any color eyes, hair or skin.

Would this look good on me?

I have short African American textured hair with a relaxer. If i got it styled would this look good on me? http://www.matrix.com/find_your_hair_sty...

Would this look good on me?

Oh yes!!

Especially if you got subtle highlights of different shades of really dark chocolaty brown. It would add texture to the look that black hair might not. I think it will look really good! :)

Would this look good on me?

Yes, that is a really good hairstyle! I like it.

Would this look good on me?

OMG! That would look Great

Its so Pretty. Especially since

Your Hair texture!

Would this look good on me?

It is a cute style. But, you are going to be subjecting your poor hair to a lot of abuse.

Relaxer, flatironing, colouring, highlighting, harsh styling products. That all adds up to split ends, weak, dry, breaking hair.

Is it worth it?

Would this look good on me?

i think that will look really cute..make sure you get the part like that or else it will look funny

Could you please give me some advice on my hair?

I am african american and i get my hair permed every 2 or 3 months and i wash it every week and send under the dryer for about 45 minutes with a roller set. I longed for my hair to grow. I know that i should keep my ends clipped and i should take better care of it. My scalp also itches within 2 or 3 days after i wash it. I use grease, but i probably need some cream or oil in it. Could you please tell me how i can get my hair in better shape??? I would love to start using natural products on my hair especially since i get perms. i would take any adivce, books or anything to help me!!! thanks for your patience in reading into my situation.

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to sh

I have went to the hair dresser to get a perm n every once n awhile I would let her put a semi-permanent dye on top of my perm because it takes better. My color will never turn out 2 be the color that the dye is, but it shows kinda in the light. I'm a African-American female and I am wondering what I can do 2 get my color to show up n my hair. I kno that bleaching my hair is out of the question because I have a perm n I looked up bleaching permed hair n the websites say that u shouldn't bleach permed hair.

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

get a wig

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

you could dye parts of you hair blonde (not bleach) and then put the color over it you might have to dye it blonde more then once

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

You have to get it colored a few different times. Since your color is so dark, the dye won't really make a difference in the beginning, try going a lighter shade then you would and go in at least until you start to notice a change (which should be 3 or 4 dyes.)

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

i think thats the only way is to bleach it so that u can get the black out my boyfriend has jet black hair and like u he wanted it a different color. we tried everything finally we just had to bleach it out to get the color he wanted. but u can always try wigs or weave.

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

Black hair is VERY HARD to dye; I mean am Asian and my hair color is Jet Black. So to start out, dye your hair with some "brown color" like Hazel Nut Brown, Golden Brown, Chocolate Brown, ect.. Then once your hair excepting the bleachin fomuler, go all at it with Blones and Reds. It may take you a couple time of dyeing it before your color turn out the way you like.

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

nothings gonna come out right if you still have dye in it from before if you dyed it not too long ago (if you did). You might just have to wait awile for your hair to grow out of the perm and then get it bleached cause bleachin and permed hair don't go well as far as I've herd so don't do anything to hurt your hair I bet you have beautiful hair that just got permed so don't worry about being so quick to dye it.

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

If you're hair is dyed black, you won't be able to just dye it a lighter colour because the hair won't accept it. If this is the case, you need to strip the darker dye out and they dye it lighter. If it's not and your hair is naturally black, you'll just have to dye it a slighter colour again and again until you get it the colour that you're happy with. If you're in doubt, just drop into a salon and ask a hairdresser, they're the experts anyway. Good luck

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

my suggestion is get extensions i tried it also when my hair was jet black and nothing would stick to my hair i tried pink, blue, green, and etc.... but the only thing that actually worked was extensions

good luck finding your solution let me know what works

My hair is black and when I put colored dye in it it doesn't take. How can I get my color to show on my hair?

Black is very hard to dye. Well, If I were you I would only do maybe High Lights. Because sicne you probably have to style it all the time you will have to contantly dye it and it will do much damage.

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any s

Someone suggested to wear it back a lot for now to keep products out of my hair so that it can take time to breathe and grow back. The hair is now like mixed lengths - layered with split ends - some at ears - and alittle at neck area. Any cool ideas or links of pulled back hairstyles or sleek/chic pull backed looks I can do with this short hair rather than curling it everyday and styling it? (I am African American so I have a kinkier texture) - Thanks!

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any style ideas?

Recently I just joined this group on Yahoo called Mahogany Beauty, I just joined because they have a hair photo gallery with alot of pictures in it of hot hairstyles for natural hair. But they also have alot of good hair advice as well so check it out. Also I have a subscription to Hype Hair, which you can get anywhere magazines are sold for $4.00.

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any style ideas?

you can always do a wrap or rollers sets...that will keep you from the heat ...but also be sure to wash and condition once a week evp3 treatments are excellent

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any style ideas?

Well it can't be too short if you have the option of wearing it back. I guess you mean in a ponytail. I don't recommend that I recommend that you wear it natural and I agree that you keep products out of your hair at least those that are drying. You should try your best to condition and moisturize. You may want to use protein treatment also. Another thing is you may just want to go ahead and cut your hair even, that way it can be in style while you are trying to grow it out and get it back healthy. I would recommend braiding your own hair at night and wearing it crinkly the next day. wearing it naturally curly or wavy with a cute thick headband. I think that the least stressed your hair is the better, so pullin it back in tight ponytails or clips may not be the best idea considering how much stress your hair must have been in with the weave. I used to wear micro braids all the time and the best remedy was always to just let it be for awhile. I used leave in conditioners and loosely braided my hair at night, and wore a satin scarf, in the morning my hair was shiny and bouncy. I did this for a month in between braids and relaxers to give my hair a chance to recover.

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any style ideas?

don't get a weave don't for a while until your hear gets a little healthier. also don't perm it eather that will make you hair brake and fall out. just get the ends cut so it gets healthier and grows. you can part it on the side and wear it like that or you can try a hump like a mohack but for girls you know what i'm talking about right? be creative :o) good luck

I just got rid of a weave I've had for a long time - now I have short quite damaged hair. Any style ideas?

I would get a nice cut all over from a stylist preferably one that don't require much maintaince. then go from there keeping it up and getting monthly trims to help it grow.

How to make my hair grow faster??

I am an african american and i got my hair cut on april 31st and i want to have my afro back i want to know what can make my hair grow longer and fasterr i dont want any suplements just simple info any help will be aprreciated

How to make my hair grow faster??

To make your hair grow faster, just stimulate your scalp. That will increase the blood flow to the follicles and help the hair to grow. The average growth of hair is about 1/2 inch a month. If your hair is taking it sweet time. Then brush, rub, comb, or even itch your scalp.

How to make my hair grow faster??

When your hair grows long enough braid it back, nothing else will help your hair grow faster.

How to make my hair grow faster??

theres nothing else we can do. use effective hair grower shampoo.

How to make my hair grow faster??

Nothing really. You can try shampoos, but you'll just have to wait it out. Sorry dude

How to make my hair grow faster??

every time you go for a hair cut jus cut off a lil bit that will make it grow faster so ive heard

Afro hair growth?

If I mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend) will that make my hair grow faster, longer %26amp; stroger??

or should i just use a product such as doo gro?? can you please give me pros %26amp; cons to this product

i'm african american i get relaxers every 6-8 weeks %26amp; i heard that this might work for hair growth. please tell me any side affects that coul possibly occure

Afro hair growth?

Always remember that african-american hair is naturally curly and VERY FRAGILE, so it breaks alot easier that other hair types.

I'd say, to have faster hair growth, it has to start from INSIDE your body. The faster cell growth is within your body, the more you'll see your hair grow. Also remember that once your hair grows outside of your scalp...it's DEAD. So what you're taking care of is just dead cells. I know...it's gross, but those strands will break-off over time if you don't protect them by making sure they don't get split ends and keep them from alot of heat damage.

My advice? Take prenatal vitamins (From GNC) or the Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins from GNC. They'll create more cellular activity, growth within your body and as a result your hair will grow faster and be a bit stronger.

Afro hair growth?

Hair growth occurs at the ROOTS. Massaging products into the hair itself cannot make hair grow faster.

Products like relaxers damage hair, makes it brittle and dry and therefore leads to breakage. The products you mentioned can restore moisture back into the damaged hair.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

The baby is mixed (black/white) with medium brown gingerish and pretty straight hair. She just turned 1 and you can't tell she is half african american. Is that normal?

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

My son's hair changed from black to brown to auburn to blonde and now back to dark brown..also went from thin and curly, to thick and straight and now back to curly..

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

Thats normal. And a persons hair color and texture can change at ANY point in their lives.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

It depends on whos hair jeans she recicived, hair color can change as you get older, but texture doesn't change too much.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

Baby's hair can change quite a bit. Their hair usually comes in thinner than it will really be, and a person's hair can change up to puberty. I was born with blonde curly hair and blue eyes, I now have dark dark brown hair that is straight and brown eyes. Everyone is different though, some babies are born one way and stay.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

no it will not change my nephew was born with blond hair, and he is very light skinned, although nobody in my family is like that, we are tanny tone of skin color and brunnete hair, not even the father of the child, (but he did have long blonde hair when he was a little boy, so maybe it has to do with that) anyways, she cut the baby's hair off to see if it grows back maybe dark but it grew blonde again! he's only a year and 5months, i think he is going to stay the same way until he's probably 13 years of age

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

yes- hair changes every seven years- that's why people say "i had such curly hair when i was little! and now its so straight"- new hair grows every 7 years.

That is normal- we can never tell who has the more dominant traits even though science dictates what she SHOULD have doesnt mean she will- both my parents have dark brown curly hair and deep brown eyes, i have straight dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. genes are hiding in our DNA somewhere that causes these beautiful characteristics in nature. your daughter is unique and i'm sure going to be a knock out!

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

Yes, my friend has a mixed baby (black/white) and he has curly blonde hair at age 3. When he was a baby under a year, he had straight more corse dark hair. Their texture and color can change

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

yes both will have a tendacy to change my son had fine curled hair and now its thick and if it gets long enough it will just a sweat machne. my cousin had blnde hair but as he got older it turned dark brown

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

Yes, my boys are mixed black/white, my first has staright black hair, and has since birth, my second was born with soft curly hair, we cut it at about 6 months because it was only growing in the front and he had a huge fluff ball, it then layed flat for a while, now at 16 months he has my husbands hair, black, thick curly, if i dont put oil in it he has a fro. My third is only 4 months old who knows what is going to happen. Just give it time, but yes it can change and probably will....

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

I'm not positive about multi-race babies, but it's almost always the case with caucasian babies. Almost none of us have the same hair we did as we were young children. I had thin, whispy white-blond hair as a small child. It's now thicker, courser, and between a dark blonde and brown. My kids (and my niece and nephews) have all at one point seemed to be redheads, because my dad is. Now they're all blonde or brown. Hair color and texture can even change as you are an adult (naturally). After I was pregnant the first time, my straight hair turned freakish on me, going into ringlets in some places, and non-curlable in others.

Since she's part caucasian, it's possible her hair color/texture will change.

I also know of some multi-race kids who get darker in the summer, bringing out the African American appearance in them.

Also, facial features and structure are almost completely non-apparent in babies, and don't really start to show up until early childhood. The noses are all the same, for example, but change as baby fat is lost and the bones in the nose take shape. There aren't a lot of distinguishing facial features between black and white people in general, but there are a few, and it's possible she could have the facial structure of the African-American parent later in life. If that's all it is, though, it may not be enough to make it perfectly clear she's mixed, though.

Mixed babies can look all white, all black, or anywhere in between. Most that I know are among the most physically striking children I've ever seen, I think because they inherited the best of both parents.

Your baby may never look "half african american", but that doesn't change who she is. It's quite possible she won't look 100% caucasian, either, and that fact is what will show she is mixed.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

yes its normal I have met lots of older people that did not look like they where black at all or very little

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

Yes, your hair texture and color can continue to change through out your whole life. I'm 25 and my hair is changing from straight to curly. Even eye color can still change somewhat.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

My boy is 18 months and he's mixed (black/white) also and he's white skinned - brown eyed - with med brown hair thats straight on top and wavy curly in back. So yes I would say thats normal.

Can a baby's hair texture and hair color still change after they're 1 yr old?

yes, when i was born i had brown hair, then i turned1 and it turned red then at 18 months it was blonde until now its turning reddish brown and i've never dyed my hair

I hate having greasy hair...help!?

I am African-American and I get my hair pressed and flat ironed every two weeks, but during those two weeks, I have to oil my scalp. After I oil my scalp, my hair becomes really heavy and it loses movement..does anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain body and volume?

I hate having greasy hair...help!?

I fell out of love with grease when in high school, because it was gross and heavy and attracted dirt and dust.

Moved on to oil sheen, not knowing any better, and used that a while because it was lighter.

Found out that petroleum and mineral oil are both from crude oil, and both barriers, which mean they clog your hair follicles. They both coat your hair, preventing nutrients from getting in, and coat your scalp (which breathes as part of our skin), and keep toxins from being released as well as nutrients from going in.

I recommend Humble, it's a local line in Texas, with natural oils that do not weigh the hair down. My hair has so much movement and bounce...and is truly healthy.

Just be aware that mineral oil and petroleum are not moisturizers, but again, barriers, and if you need something to be fully absorbed into your skin, put some petroleum on it, and nothing is going to pass it...coming in or going out.

~best

ps - if you want more volume...or body... you might want to make sure that whoever is straightening your hair is only going over each section once, and not to death. Maintaining a little texture will help you have fuller...or at least fuller looking, hair.

I hate having greasy hair...help!?

girl i used to have the same problem but i just started using a lite weight oil sheen and plus your scalp produces its own oils that moisturize your scalp and when you brush/comb thru your hair it gets distributed evenly that way so use as less as possible and then touch it up yourself with a hot comb or flat iron too ; ) hope this helps

I hate having greasy hair...help!?

I want a 'scene/emo' hair cut and style, but my hair is very coarse and thick. Any suggest

My hair is really coarse and thick. Which is a given seeing as I'm african american. I want a scene/emo haircut [ really hate how people just lable anything thats diffrent, but, whatever. ] complete with a new dye color and such. But I'm not sure how I should go about. Any suggestions or ideas on how I should get it cut, and what color to dye? And from there, how should I treat my hair to make sure it doesn't like...die on me or anything. D: I could really use some help. Below is a pic of me. I'm the girl with gold scarf and lip piercing.

Well, You should try some Hair De-Intesifying shampoo. And then stratin it. Then dye it black, Then go to your hairdresser with a pic or a emo haircut and they will take over from there. Or if you wantto do it your self follow the instructions till it says go to the hare dresser, So insteed of that get out a hair razor and do it to the back of your head so its about 1/2 inch long , Leave the bangs right inffront of your face and taaa daa your done

Thin out your hair with shearing scissors (my mom did that to me a few yrs ago and it still hasnt fully grown back)...then get it relaxed...really intensely deep condition it frequently and try to make it as soft and silky as possible.

try searching some audrey kitching pics, shes and emo/scene hairdresser and model!!!

since you have coarse hair i would get your hair really texturized its a shear that is used to not make it so coarse. then i would get a CHI flat iron. its about 130 dollars i know that sounds like alot but trust me it is the best flat iron on the market. when its cut get short layers on the top so that it can stand up. just bring in a pic to a salon and they can do it for you

Needs help with hair!!!?

I like body and curls in my hair. Could anybody tell me the best rollers to wear to acheive this without having grandmother tight curls? Also a kind of roller that doesnt cause split ends?

I am an African American woman with long thick hair too!

Needs help with hair!!!?

i dont know the nmae i think there called noodle roller when i had miro braids i love to curl my hair so i was in a play and i got there noodles like rollers and they dont have a snap like there normal soft foam ones does you just:

take the hair in the middle of the roller and you roll lol

and to bend the end of the roller in wards and there you go

Needs help with hair!!!?

I use magnetic rollers and roller clips/pins. To hold them, I used Organic Root Stimulatior's Wrap/Set foaming lotion and I seal the ends of each section that I roll with a water-based moisturizer and jojoba oil *to seal the ends* before rolling. If your hair is long, thick and healthy, it will do the rest!!

O yea, I also spritz with a little bit of *Extra Virgin* Olive Oil after rolling and Profectiv Sheen Spray after I take the rollers out.

HTH!

Needs help with hair!!!?

you could putt thin layers and blond highlights and curl your hair or straighten your hair

Needs help with hair!!!?

try the flex rods. They are also comfortable to sleep in.

Sedu, Chi, or Solica & Which Straightners Gels?

Okay i'm african american my hair is kinky, coiled, or i guess you can say 'nappy'. When it's blow dryed it isn't the straightest but it isn't as tangled. I want to blow dry my hair straight with the TRESemme Products http://www.tresemme.com/heat/produc...

and then style it like this http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/...

my hair is the exact length i just got it trimmed like 30 min

okay so my question is which flat irons and straighting gel do you recommend

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

TRESemme Products work great, but please don't but the chi,i have read hundreds of reviews about it breaking down in six months,so narrow your choices to Sedu %26amp; Solia.

Which flat iron you choose will depend on your budget,I currently own the Solia and it's a great iron for straightening and curling and really good for straightening the little hairs around your face. It's only 60.95 on Folica.com,so if your on a budget, you should get that one.

http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_r1...

The Sedu is the highest rated straightener in the world, and the one that i plan to buy next. It's a really great iron for people with medium to long hair. The iron is kinda big,so it can't straighten the little hairs around your face. They did make a 1 inch version for people with short hair, and so people with long hair could put curls and waves in their hair.

I bought the Solia because i used to have short hair and needed to straighten the baby hairs around my face, but now that my hair grew longer,i can get the Sedu.Just read the reviews on Folica.com and see which one you like better.Good Luck!

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

The link doesn't work.

But with my experience, the Sedu is definitely the best of the three and the top flat iron on the market, period. I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum to protect my hair %26amp; keep it shiny and soft, it works wonderfully. :)

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

CHI. They work friggin awesum.

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

Sedu

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

Sedu is the best.

Sedu, Chi, or Solica %26amp; Which Straightners Gels?

Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed. Their warranty is worthless!

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission just announced a recall of Chi flat irons due to fire and burn hazards:

How can i gt my hair to grow?

There are two things that will promote hair growth Moisture and Messaging your scalp. Just buy a great hair dressing that contains natural Herb and vitamins and apply it to your hair line, temples and nape and hair. Then use the balls of your fingers and message it in. This will cause the blood to circulate to stimulate the hair follicles to promote hair growth. everybody can't take vitamins. Some has became sick to their stomachs taking pre-natal vitamins. This works and I do this method two times a week.

Kinky Curly Hair?

Im in african american with kinky spiral curly hair. I keep my curls soft and moist with Right On Curl Activator. The only problem that i have is that i keep pulling out knots and tangles. I was wondering if there was a product that could get rid of them...

ps. i dont have to comb my hair regularly...so i dont.

Kinky Curly Hair?

My son doesn't have the kink but has the sprial curl and to keep it tangle free I use the Matrix Curl Life line. It keeps the curls, detangles, and doesn't dry it out.

Kinky Curly Hair?

Have you tried to wear your hair in twist. Like to two strand twist. on natural hair. You won't have to comb your hair every day so it takes away the daily stress you put on your hair. Leaving it to grow long and healthy.

Kinky Curly Hair?

hum interesting you dont come your hair often yet you have detangles. I wonder why. I need to come your hair everyday not be lazy. Yes suave kids detangler. Brush out your hair with bristle brush then use a comb over the comb hair to get all the tangles out.

Some products do create more of mess instead of improving a hair style that part of washing your hair daily

Relaxing hair?

I'm African American and my cousin and I are always arguing about how often you should relax your hair. She can go 2 to 3 months without a relaxer. Me on the other hand can only go 6-9 weeks. She tells me I relax my hair too much but I said it depends on the individual how much their hair grows. I've been relaxing my hair now at that interval for four years now and I have had no problems. Who's right? And should I take a break from relaxing my hair for a few months?

Relaxing hair?

I don't relax my hair, but my sisters do, and I would say it depends on the person.

My sister can take a relaxer once a month, easy. My other sister can go about 3-4 months, if not more. And when I was relaxed, I only relaxed my hair twice a year.

Relaxing hair?

normally a person hair should be retouch every five weeks on the new growth and deep conditon every two weeks.

but for the retouch if a person hair does not hardly grow then ofcourse every 5 weeks would not be for some people.

Relaxing hair?

Your cousin is right. Because of the harsh chemicals in relaxers, you should not do them too often. However, to do retouches until your next relaxer, you can try a natural relaxer. These straighten your hair out, but don't have the harsh chemicals that relaxers do, so you can wait longer to get a relaxer.

Relaxing hair?

I have clients who relax their hair every 6 to 9 weeks as well as every 4 to 6 months. It truly depends on the product you use and your hair type. Everybodies hair is different. If you aren't currently having any issues with the integrity of you hair chances are you are fine. No need to change unless you feel you need to take a break.

Fashion disaster!!!!!!!!!!?

ok i have this short problem right?, and i need your advice...i got to an un-uniformed high school and i have plenty of clothes but no money. How do i mantain my fashion sense without wearing the same thing too many times? An not to mention i'm broke! An what types of hair styles should i wear with my real hair that i can do at home? (I am african american my hair reaches the length of my shoulders, what should i do to it?)

Fashion disaster!!!!!!!!!!?

With your clothes, mix and match, but make sure they're matching. Spice it up a little with cute accessories! Just do the normal ponytail, pigtails, or just keep it down.

Fashion disaster!!!!!!!!!!?

just put it up somedays..in a bun somedays..down somedays..if you do a different hairstyle almost every day it will look cool and good and you will be really happy =D

Fashion disaster!!!!!!!!!!?

um mix and match ur clothes

My hair is breaking up with me!?

I am an african american woman and I need advice from other women of color on this one......My hair keeps breaking off, falling out. If you see my pic, that is a wig im wearing and yes, it has gotten that bad to the point i have to wear a wig. My hair does get dry and brittle. And yes I do, relax my hair. I have thin fine hair as well. Are there any products, tips, or anything you can tell me to help fight this losing battle?

My hair is breaking up with me!?

KISS it GOOD-BYE!No I'm judt kidding,I'm not sure on this one!!

My hair is breaking up with me!?

Girl, you need to start taking a multi vitamin. Eating healthy foods also helps. If you a relaxing your hair too frequently that could also cause dammage to your hair. Make sure to wrap your hair with a silk or satin scarf at night to reduce breakang %26amp; talk to a dematologist about your balding. Some of "us" have a scalp condition called alopecia which causes hair loss %26amp; balding. Good luck ma!

*By the way...since you already wear a wig, it might be a good idea to cut of your relaxed hair %26amp; start growing it out natural. Nobody will see it cuz it will be under the wig!

My hair is breaking up with me!?

I think you have already identified the answer to your problem. Relaxers cause hair breakage in most people. Many people can tolerate relaxers when they are young, but as they get older the relaxers start to take their toll and cause extensive damage. I suggest you consider going natural. Natural can mean completely natural - just wear your hair as it is in braids, or other natural styles, or it can mean straightened temporarily, as in pressing with low heat.
