How do i wrap my hair?

I'm an african american and all my friends have no problem wrapping their hair. I've tried it but it never fully wraps and i have to put so much product in my hair that it feels heavy the next day. Also i have problems taking it out the next day.

How exactly should it be done.

How do i wrap my hair?

This is how my auntie taught me how to wrap my hair: 1st You part your hair behind your ear on either side, it doesn't matter. Then you take a comb to wrap your hair all the way around like a beehive. But while you are wrapping your hair, hold your hand at the top of your head. You will need to then use a soft brush to brush your hair around so it doesn't fall. Then use some bobbie pins and pin a few in your hair so it doesn't fall down. Don't use to many or when you take your hair down there will be a lot of lines in it. After you put the pins in, you could either put on a wrap cap or a satin scarf then your done. Especially if you just got your hair done, don't put any more product in it to try to make the wrap stay up. Or your hair will look very weighed down and it won't be flowing and it won't move. Just leave it as it is, but if you want a little bit more shine just put a little bit of shine mist in your hair. It won't weigh it down and your hair won't look greasy. You can buy some at the beauty supply store, salons, etc. When you take your wrap down, take the bobbie pins out. Then which ever way you wrapped your hair, comb it down that way untill it falls down into place. You can then part your hair on whatever side you want. I hope that helps you and if it made you more confused, just ask any hairdresser you go to and they will show you how.

First, detangle with comb. Do a slant part from the center of your hair to the left. Take the comb with hair to the towards the right and to the left in a circular motion. After wards use a brush to keep all the hair in tack. You don't need to put any product in your hair. It weighs it down. Use satin or silk to tie your hair. Cotton damages your hair. Don't use bobby pins. They leave dents in your hair... Unless you go to the hairdresser... Take them out when you get home.

to do:

starting on one side of your head, brush/comb all hair in one continuous direction (ie wrapping your hair around your head)

cover and tie a scarf to secure

untie scarf and shake out hair or fix it woth your fingers until it the styled as you want.

you can sleep with it if you like- it keeps hair straghter and less than sleeping with your hair out

if you are wrapping for the first time- you may want to have a few bobby pins handy to help secure the hair as you wrap. as you do it more often and get the hang of it it'll be easier.

Wrapping your hair is hard at first. You have to train your hair to follow the pattern of wrap. It takes a couple of weeks of wrapping to get it right. I personally use the extra long bobby pins to get my hair to stay while I tie on my scarf. Once it's on then I just reach under the scarf and slide them out. And remember to use a silk scarf. It doesnt absorb the oils from your hair drying it out.

I had the same problem obtaining a good wrap. until my sister advised the best way to do it (very short or very long hair) part the hair in 2 sections straight down the middle. comb the 1st half to the side, then follow in the same direction with the other side. Then brush until until you get the desired wrap. I guarantee you will get a better wrap each time. also no need to put additional products. if parts of the hair is not flat, try a very small amt of water and brush in
