Well im a Guy with real dark black hair who wants to dye it different colors. Im african american if that makes any difference and really want to know what id need to do get my hair lighter because i doubt just dying would get the color to stay.

Not more than likely, you will have to bleach your hair. I would not suggest doing this yourself. Especially having ethnic hair, it breaks very easy and if you dont know what you are doing, you can really damage your hair. Go to a pro.

More than likely, you'll have to bleach it. Just make sure that if you do decide to bleach your hair, you don't do it too often. And if you use other chemicals in your hair, such as perms, relaxers, etc., wait at least two weeks before bleaching it. You don't want to have an episode of your hair falling out like I did.

have your hair lifted(bleached).please go to a professional stylist.they will lift your hair and then put whatever colr it is you desire.and for the record,no one has dark black hair.you may have the darkest brown but there's no such thing as dark black.
